RecallX (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the RecallX mobile application and official web services. We are dedicated to protecting your privacy and providing transparent disclosures regarding data collection, processing, and security.
1. Overview & Core Principles
RecallX is built with a privacy-first, structured study architecture. We adhere strictly to the following principles:
- No Third-Party Advertising: RecallX currently does not display third-party advertisements or sell user personal data to data brokers.
- On-Device Screen Time Privacy: Focus Shield app selections are stored and processed strictly on your Apple device.
- No Stored Payment Credentials: All in-app subscription payments are handled directly by Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Complete User Control: You can permanently delete your account and associated cloud data at any time.
2. Information You Provide Directly
When you create an account or use RecallX features, we may collect:
- Account Identity: User ID (UID), email address, display name, and authentication provider identifiers (Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, or Email/Password).
- Profile Details: Optional profile information you choose to enter, such as your nickname, avatar image, exam targets, and timezone.
- Study Content: Subjects, chapters, topics, flashcards, study notes, revision schedules, and custom study goals created within the app.
3. Screen Time API & Focus Shield Privacy
On supported iOS and iPadOS devices, RecallX offers "Focus Shield" to help you avoid digital distractions while studying. Focus Shield uses Apple’s native FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity frameworks.
All selected application and category tokens remain strictly on your local device. RecallX does not track, collect, or transmit the identities of the applications you choose to shield to our servers or any third party.
4. Cloud Sync, Storage & Infrastructure
RecallX utilizes Google Firebase cloud services (hosted in secure data centers with TLS encryption in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest) for:
- Authentication: Managing secure sign-in tokens and sessions.
- Cloud Firestore: Synchronizing revision schedules, topics, flashcards, and study streak statistics across your authorized devices.
- Firebase Storage: Storing user-uploaded profile pictures and custom note attachments.
- Anonymous/Guest Account: RecallX may create an anonymous account to support app functionality before you link a permanent sign-in method. Depending on the features you use, certain app data may be stored locally and/or synchronized with RecallX's Firebase-based cloud services.
5. In-App Purchases, Billing & Subscriptions
All financial transactions for RecallX Premium subscriptions (Monthly and Yearly plans) are processed directly by Apple Inc. (App Store) or Google LLC (Google Play Store).
- RecallX never receives, processes, or stores your credit card numbers, debit card details, bank accounts, or billing addresses.
- RecallX may receive and store transaction or order identifiers, product identifiers, subscription status, and cryptographic verification information needed to verify, restore, support, and protect subscription entitlements. RecallX does not receive or store your raw credit card numbers, bank account details, or other raw payment credentials.
6. Diagnostics, Analytics & Notifications
- Firebase Crashlytics: Collects anonymous crash logs, stack traces, and device hardware models to diagnose and fix technical bugs.
- Firebase Analytics (GA4): Aggregates non-personalized app interaction statistics (such as session counts and feature adoption) to help us improve app usability.
- Push Notifications (FCM): Delivers study reminder alerts and daily revision notifications that you explicitly enable. You can disable notifications anytime in your device system settings.
7. Google Calendar Integration
If you choose to enable Google Calendar Sync, RecallX requests permission solely to create and manage revision schedule events under a dedicated calendar titled "RecallX Sync". RecallX does not read, access, or modify your personal calendars or unrelated calendar events.
8. Data Retention & Account Deletion Rights
You have the fundamental right to permanently delete your account and all associated personal data:
- In-App Deletion: Open RecallX > Settings > Delete Account > type "DELETE" > confirm. This immediately triggers an automated purge of your Firestore profile, topics, flashcards, cloud storage files, and authentication record.
- Web Portal: Visit our dedicated Account Deletion Page or email us at spacedrevisionteam@gmail.com.
- De-Identified Audit Records: Anonymized one-way cryptographic transaction hashes may be retained solely to comply with financial accounting standards and prevent fraud.
9. Children’s Privacy
RecallX is intended for general educational and exam preparation purposes and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
